Combine Dates Announced

I am proud to announce once again three football combines will take place in the Magnolia State to give the state's players a chance to showcase their skills and improve their college football stock. For the second straight year, three of these events will take place at no cost to participants.

On Wednesday, May 27th, KDMC (Knight's Daughters Medical Center) will partner with me to bring the third annual Miss-Lou Combine to south Mississippi. For the second straight year, the event will take place at Brookhaven High School.

Over the course of the past two years, we have had our first look at standouts such at Tito Windham (Oklahoma), Fred Trevillion (San Diego State), Chris Stamps (Mississippi State) and Leo Lewis (Mississippi State).

On Saturday, May 30th, the Tupelo Visitors and Convention Bureau will bring the Southeast Select Combine back to Tupelo High School. This is the seventh year we have been able to bring this event to the players of northeast Mississippi. This will be our first year on the Blue turf.

Many of the state's top players over the past several years have elected to work out at the event including Chad Bumphis (Mississippi State), Tracey Lampley (Southern Miss), Vincent Sanders (Ole Miss), Jarvis Wilson (Georgia), Fletcher Cox (Philadelphia Eagles), Cameron Lawrence (Dallas Cowboys) and many, many others.

On Monday, June 15th, we will return to Canton Academy for the second straight year giving us another event in central Mississippi. Last year's event was a huge success and this year promises to be even bigger.

Madison County Sports Zone is back for their second year as the event sponsor. I am very happy to have a working relationship with the folks here who enable me to bring an event to Canton.

Registration will begin at 9 AM for all three events with testing to follow sharply at 10 AM. Once testing is completed, participants will go through positional drills and then one-on-one match-ups.

There is no cost to attend, but all participants must pre-register with me by e-mail at

Coaches, please e-mail me your list of players who would benefit from these events and I will do my best to accommodate all who have a genuine desire to participate.

All testing results and measurements will be passed along to over 50 college football programs in hopes of giving all who have a shot at playing college football a better chance of playing college football.

I look forward to seeing you all over the course of the next few weeks.
