"I picked up an offer from Georgia about 20 minutes ago," Brown said earlier this evening. "I don't really know that much about them, but I am going to check them out. I am just really getting to know them."
Georgia joins several schools with offers on the table including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas among others. Several schools are showing some serious interest in the scout National 300 member.
As it stands now, all schools are still in play for Brown's signing day signature.
"I don't really have a favorite school right now," Brown said. "I am just trying to go through everything and then see where I fit best. I am just going to take my time.
"I plan on going to some camps this summer, but I couldn't even really tell you which ones yet. I am thinking about all of that and then I am going to set them up and go."
Brown and his Starkville High teammates were shocked to learn last week that head coach Jamie Mitchell would be leaving the program for a head coaching position at North Little Rock High School in Arkansas.
"I hate to see Coach Mitchell go, but it really doesn't change what I have to do," Brown said. "I know what I have to do and I know how to do it. We're just trying to finish up spring practice and have a good spring game this weekend."
Starkville will play their spring game at Mississippi State's Davis Wade stadium this Friday. Several teams from around the area will take part including Meridian High. Brown and some of his fellow Yellowjackets have become fast friends with some of the Wildcats. There has even been some talk about the group playing together on the next level.
"Yeah, we talked a little bit about that," Brown said. "I am not sure though. I am not sure if they were all joking or what. I know I have to make my own decision and do what's best for me.
"We've become good friends with some of the players down there. I am just going to go through everything and then make my decision. I am not sure when that is going to happen."
