Langham On the Scene

One of the top receivers in attendance on Day 2 of Mississippi State's June camp sessions was 2017 prospect Willie Langham of McAdory High School (AL). Langham routinely got his hands on the football and into the end zone. While Langham is waiting for his first offers, he clearly has the bloodline and the potential to make himself an intriguing prospect.

The name Langham carries a lot of weight in football circles in the state of Alabama. Willie is the cousin of Crimson Tide All-Everything Antonio Langham who took his talents from Tuscaloosa to the NFL.

While the elder Langham had the ability to bat down passes, Willie Langham is doing his best to catch them.

"Coach (Billy) Gonalzes was telling me today that I made some big plays and some big catches," Langham said. "I feel like I had a great day and I hope it helps me. There were a couple of good DBs out here, but I just tried to play my game."

Mississippi State has had some success in recently years with McAdory High school prospects. Current Bulldog linebacker Dezz Harris and defensive tackle Cory Thomas are both McAdory High alumni.

Langham admits that the connection with those players helps make Mississippi State an attractive destination.

"I think all of that helps when I think about coming over here," Langham said. "They've told me that the recruiting process helps and that I should enjoy it. They tell me what it's like over here and what it takes to get here and stay here."

In just a few weeks, McAdory High school will take to the fall practice field as they prepare for the 2015 football season. Langham expects his team to be one to watch this fall.

"We are going to be better than we were last year," Langham said. "I am excited about the season and ready to get back out there."
