  • Brewer plays linebacker in high school but will likely play defensive end on the collegiate level. To showcase his ability on the defensive line to college coaches, he is attending numerous camps during the month of June.

"Thursday, I was at the Memphis and Samford camps," said Brewer, who told me that he has offers from Coastal Carolina, Louisiana-Lafayette, Mercer and Kennesaw State. "I was at Missouri at Friday. Yesterday, I was at the Louisiana-Lafayette camp. Then, I came down here today. Next weekend I will probably go to the Georgia camp. Then, I go to Marshall. I'm not sure about the rest of the camps that I will go to."

He came away impressed with his Mississippi State camping experience.

"I liked the camp," said Brewer. "All the coaches here stay on you, making sure you give it your all, 100% effort in every drill that you do. The coaches were actually on all of us, making sure we gave it our all."

You knew Brewer is on Mississippi State's radar screen because as soon as D-line coach David Turner saw him, he yelled out his first name and he kept talking to him during the drills.

"It is very special when the coaches know my name," said Brewer. "They know that I can play pretty good, have a pretty good game."

And he expects his game to be even better thanks to what he learned during his camp time at Mississippi State.

"What I learned today is that I need to go all of the time, give 100% effort all of the time," said. Brewer. "(Coach Turner) said I just need to work on my hips a little more. And if I do that, then he thinks that I will be pretty good."

He also came away impressed with what he saw during his time at Mississippi State.

"This is my first time to come to Mississippi State," said Brewer. "So, this was my first time to meet Coach Turner. I like him. I also got to meet (Mississippi State head) Coach (Dan) Mullen. He came over and shook my hand and said hello to me.

"Mississippi State is real nice. I would love to play here on Saturday nights."
