McKitty Talks Bulldog Experience

The Mississippi State coaching staff have worked out several tight end prospects this month in hopes of finding the right fit. While the Bulldogs are still holding auditions for their 2016 spot, they have already begun extending offers to prospects for the 2017 signing class. One rising junior who is part of that conversation is Tampa, Florida star Tre' McKitty.

"Camp was great," McKitty said. "We had a little testing in the beginning. I feel like I did alright in that and then we came out here and competed in the one-on-ones. We had a lot of guys out here who did a good job with that."

McKitty spent some time with a few of the Mississippi State coaches. Bulldog wide receiver coach Billy Gonzales appears to have made a solid impression on the Tampa Catholic High standout.

"He is a good guy," McKitty said. "We did some good drills and just had a great camp working with him. It was a great day."

Currently on a campus bus tour, McKitty has drawn rave reviews and offers from most of the schools he has visited.

"Yesterday, I got Auburn," McKitty said. "I have Florida, Miami, Kentucky, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Middle Tennessee, USF (South Florida) Wake Forest and FIU."

From the sound of things, Mississippi State may soon enter the race for McKitty's signing day autograph.

"I talked some with the tight end coach (Scott Sallach) a little bit and he talked me through the drills," McKitty said. "He was helping me out with everything. I am sure they're talking about me playing tight end, that's what most people like me as."

Should the Bulldogs offer, McKitty reports that Mississippi State would get a solid look from him as his considers his college future.

"Any major school like this that offers me is going to be a factor," McKitty says. "I am working on getting the offers that I can and then I plan to make a decision sometime after my junior season."
