Carter Camps With 'Dogs

Mississippi State has put together a solid run of running backs under Coach Greg Knox during Dan Mullen's tenure. Every Mississippi State starting running back under Knox has gone on to the NFL under Knox' direction. The Bulldogs may not take a ball carrier this recruiting cycle, but certainly plan to take one in 2017. One of the top candidates for that spot is Navarre Beach star Michael Carter.

"I think I did well," Carter said of his camp showing. "I gave it all I had. I think that the coaches liked me. I feel like I showed them what I can do."

Carter believes that the relationship with his future position coach is an important part of the recruiting process. So far, Carter and Bulldog running backs Coach Greg Knox are off to a a good start.

"From what I could tell, he really liked me the whole time," Carter said. "He seems like a really good coach. I enjoyed working with him. He's real hands on. If you don't understand something, he doesn't mind taking the time to explain it to you. He's good at that."

Florida, Florida Atlantic and Tennessee have offered so far. The Bulldogs could be next.

"They told me that they were going to offer soon," Carter said of Mississippi State. "I am getting ready to talk to them about coming back for the next camp (Big Dawg)."

Once the summer camp travels have concluded, Carter plans to turn his full focus towards his junior campaign.

"I think we have the chance to do some big things," Carter said. "We have a lot of good players coming back on offense and defense. I think we only have about five seniors leaving. I'm excited."
