"Things went great," Jones said of camp. "This was a great opportunity to come here and show everybody what I am capable of. I had fun."
Jones opened his recruitment expecting to play defensive tackle on the next level, but in camp, Jones worked with Mississippi State offensive line coach John Hevesy.
"I worked on the O line today and it was great," Jones said. "It was a great opportunity to get better. I worked on getting better with my feet and get my technique down pat. I love Coach Hevesy. He's a great coach. I love what he does and how he does it."
Mississippi State has been courting Jones for months and it appears that those efforts are paying off.
"I like Mississippi State. They are my number one option right now," Jones said. "I am not sure when I am going to make my decision, but they are on top right now. I have offers from Mississippi State, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, Middle Tennessee, Jacksonville State, West Alabama and Alabama A&M."
Jones has talked about possibly making a decision prior to the season. Gordo is absolutely loaded and expected to contend for some big things this fall. Jones does not want his recruitment to become a distraction.
"We were supposed to win it last year, but we are going to make it this year," Jones said. "We are going to state this year.
