"This was a chance to get out of the house and come over here and see what they're doing over here at Mississippi State," Couch said. "This was my first time to visit here."
Couch reports that his initial impression of the Bulldog football program has been very positive.
"I really like the coaches here," Couch said. "The environment is really good here. It's not really like a football program. It's more like a family. Everyone is together and I see a lot of former players around here."
As a prospect who has seen several college campuses up close, Couch reports that the Mississippi State facilities measure up nicely.
"The facilities here are top of the line," Couch said. "They are some of the best that I have seen so far."
Couch did not take part in drills during the one day camp session, but the 2016 four star was able to get some face time with the Mississippi State staff.
"I talked with Coach (Dan) Mullen and he told me that they want to utilize me in the offense," Couch said. "He told me he was really glad that I was over here today."
Mississippi State is one of over a dozen programs that have offered Couch a scholarship, Florida was the most recent. While Couch is committed to Florida State, he is still enjoying the recruiting process.
"I want to play for a team that really utilizes me where I don't have to block all of the time," the talented tight end said. "I want to get out and catch passes too. I like being able to flex out and play some at receiver too."
