Gray Holds Early Offers

The recruiting process continues to move along at a rapid pace with some players picking up offers from major college programs before they even take a high school snap. Such is the case with Lausanne Collegiate standout Eric Gray. The Memphis, Tennessee product reports that his recruitment has already taken off with a pair of early options from power five schools.

"I got my first offer this spring," Gray said. "I still remember the date, April 26th. That was a big moment for me and I will never forget that."

Offer number one came from the Bulldogs of Mississippi State. Gray reports that the option from an SEC school certainly got his attention.

"Coach Deshea Townsend told my coach that they were offering me," Gray said. "I don't know a lot about Mississippi State other than I have seen them play on TV and things like that. I am going to go visit there some soon and I plan on going to some games there this season."

Gray reports that the Bulldogs like his versatility and his willingness to play any position.

"They are talking about me playing running back, slot receiver or corner," Gray. "I guess I am really just being recruited as an athlete. I will play whatever gets me on the field and where the team needs me the most."

The Bulldogs recently picked up some competition in the early going of the recruitment of the talented Gray.

"We went down to IMG for the 7-on-7 tournament in Florida," Gray said. "While I was down there, they told me coach that they were offering me too. Miami is another great program, so I am happy with both of these early offers."

With four years of high school football left to play, Gray is in no hurry to make any decisions about his college future.

"I have camped at a few other schools and there are some other schools showing interest," Gray said. "I am just excited to have some offers and I look forward to seeing what all happens."
