"I just felt like this was the time to do it," Roberson said. "I just feel like it's the best place for me and I have a great relationship with all of the coaches. I had some time to think about everything and discuss it with my family and I am proud to commit to Mississippi State."
Roberson said early on that his projected field of study, animal sciences, was going to be a big part of his college deliberations.
"Mississippi State has a great veterinary school," Roberson explained. "That was really a big part of things. I want to be a veterinarian, so I wanted to find a great football program and a school with a great animal sciences school."
With Mississippi State's Big Dawg camp coming up this weekend, Bulldog fans were expecting a few priority targets to join the ranks of the verbally committed. Roberson was on the list as a probable, but he removed all doubts this evening."
"I am going to the Big Dawg camp this weekend, but I was just ready to make my decision," Roberson said. "I definitely feel wanted there and the communication from them has been great the whole time. I am always hearing from them and my position coach, Scott Sallach, stayed in touch with me and the communication on twitter has been great.
"They stayed on me and they always told me that they wanted me to be a Bulldog."
With his college recruitment now over, Roberson is happy to have the stress of the process behind him.
"I am happy to know where I am going to be going to school now," Roberson said. "I had a lot of great opportunities, but I just feel like Mississippi State is the right fit for me on and off the field. I am really excited to be a part of the Mississippi State program. I am going into a great situation and a great program."
Roberson chose the Bulldogs over offers from Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Marshall, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, NC State and North Carolina among others.
