"Mississippi State really cares about their players," Brown said. "Ever since high school, I have been coming to State. I have known Coach (David) Turner for about four years now. My decision is basically based on chemistry and knowing the coaches and the fans."
With clear eyes and the peace of having the decision behind him, Brown appeared relaxed and at ease despite a pretty serious workout.
"It's taken my two years to get to this point," Brown said. "This is where I wanted to come out of high school, but I had to go the JuCo way. It's great to finally be a Bulldog."
Proximity to home and having the chance to represent the home state were all factors in Brown's deliberations, but having the chance to play for Coach David Turner was also a major factor in the Co-Lin product's decision making process.
"Coach Turner told me that I have the ability to go and play pretty much anywhere," Brown explained. "He wants to get me here early, so I can get ready to play early. He wants me to graduate and get on up here and get to work."
When the moment came to make the call, Brown went and met in person with Top Dawg, Dan Mullen and shared the good word face to face.
"When I told Coach Mullen, he shook my hand and gave me a big hug," Brown said with a grin. "He was excited. He was real happy about me becoming a Bulldog."
Good news travels fast, so the word that Brown was headed to Mississippi State reached his hometown of Ackerman quickly.
"They've always pretty much considered me a Bulldog," Brown said. "I wanted to commit here out of high school and they're all big Mississippi State fans. They all wanted me to be a Bulldog and they're all excited about me making this commitment."
