Nelson Commits to Mississippi State

Nero Nelson has been a Mississippi State lean for some time now. On Friday, Nelson and the Bulldogs took their courtship to the next level. With his college allegiance now pledged to the Maroon and White, Nelson is ready to do his part to help the Bulldogs finish out the in state 2016 class in style.

"I had a great time at Big Dawg camp," Nelson said. "It was just such a great atmosphere. I had a lot of fun and I just felt like it was the right time to make my decision."

Nelson chose the Bulldogs over offers from Florida State, Louisville, Memphis, Ole Miss, Southern Miss among others. The three star standout credits his relationship with the Mississippi State coaching staff as a big part of his decision making process.

"Both of the camps I have been to at Mississippi State have been good," Nelson said. "I got to work with Coach (Townsend) and they want me to play DB. He showed me a lot during the camps. I could play on either side of the ball, but they are wanting me to play DB. I feel like I could play whatever they want me to play."

Before leaving the Mississippi State campus, Nelson informed Dan Mullen of his intentions to be a Bulldog on the college level.

"Coach Mullen was really excited," Nelson said. "He told me that he was glad that I was going to be a Bulldog and that he was glad to have me. He was real excited about my decision."

Nelson was one of three players who committed during the day's big event. Tallahassee, Florida star Korey Charles and Co-Lin product Trey Brown also joined the ranks of the Bulldogs' newly committed.
