Big Dawg: Cameron Dantzler

Hammond, Louisiana product Cameron Dantzler made his third summer trip to Mississippi State this past weekend for the Bulldogs' Big Dawg camp. This time the St. Thomas Aquinas product stepped on campus as a Bulldog verbal. Dantzler had the chance to work with his future coaches and some of his future teammates during the event.

"It was a great camp and I got to compete against a bunch of great guys," Dantzler said. "I feel like that I showed that I can compete with some of the top players in the nation. I learned a lot today and I really enjoyed it."

Dantzler spent a lot of time working under the direction of Mississippi State corners coach Deshea Townsend. The rising senior looked at this opportunity as a chance to sharpen his skills rather than just audition for a scholarship spot.

"When I came back on June 2nd, I got offered," Dantzler said. "This time Coach Townsend told me that I had improved. He said that I looked bigger, faster and stronger. He told me that I was quick on my feet and that I looked quick laterally. I wanted to come out here today and do even better than I did last time."

The rising senior reports that he is solid with Mississippi State, but he will be on a few other college campuses before fall practices begin.

"I am going to LSU for the 7-on-7 with my team and I am going to Auburn on the 21st," Dantzler said. "I am planning to go to Southern Miss on the 25th and then probably Florida State and LSU."
