Big Dawg: Ronald Walker

Co-Lin standout defensive back Ronald Walker is a name that Mississippi State fans should know well. Walker has been attending camps at Mississippi State since his 8th grade year. Now a junior college star, Walker is allowed to take part in the camping sessions thanks to a change in NCAA rules. On Friday night, Walker made the most of his opportunities in Starkville.

"I have a couple of offers from out west and I have seven in all," Walker said. "I came to Mississippi State and earned a scholarship."

Walker committed to Ole Miss during his high school career, but did not sign with the Rebels come signing day opting to enroll at Co-Lin this past January. Now with an offer from the Bulldogs, Walker is excited about the chance to represent his home state on the college level.

"Mississippi State likes me at corner," Walker said. "Coach (Deshea) Townsend is the coach who offered me. He's a nice coach who really motivates his players a lot.

"I am really excited about this offer. I really wanted to get another offer from one of my Mississippi schools again. It's just awesome to have this opportunity."

The Bulldogs are now one of the front runners for Walker, but the field is still rather crowded as the fall approaches.

"I am hearing from Arizona State, Louisville, Illinois, Mississippi State and Ole Miss," Walker. "I have had a couple of phone calls from Ole Miss, but they haven't offered me this time yet.

"I am not really sure when I am going to decide yet. I am just not sure about all of that right now."
