Big Dawg: Austin Guy

Austin Guy of Natchitoches, Louisiana attended Mississippi State's three day camp last month where he turned heads. After a strong workout at the end of camp, Guy was invited back to Starkville for this weekend's Big Dawg camp. With his family in tow, Guy looked to duplicate his earlier showing.

"It went good, pretty good," Guy said. "I felt great at receiver. I think I did pretty good. I feel like I impressed my position coach (Billy Gonzales)."

Guy has great length and a great catch radius. On the high school level, Guy lines up under center. A position change is in the works on the next level for Guy who looks to transition from pass thrower to pass catcher.

"I worked out at receiver and tight end during camp," Guy said. "I am comfortable with both of them and I would be fine playing them both. I just want to get on the field and be able to help the team."

A three sport star athlete in high school, Guy holds offers in basketball and football. The next several days are going to be an important part of the recruiting process for the Natchitoches Central standout.

"I am going to Lafayette (ULL) and then next Thursday, Friday and Saturday I will be at LSU," Guy said. "Mississippi State is still going to be in touch with me too. Coach Gonzales said that they are going to watch my film and that they want to stay in touch."
