Bulldogs Pushing Mason?

KaDerrion Mason has become a hot name in the Magnolia State. With a double digit offer sheet in hand, Mason is one of the most coveted available players in the Magnolia State as fall camp hits the midway point. Mason reports that he plans to see one of his top schools in action twice in the early part of the 2015 season.

"I am planning to go see Mississippi State play at Southern Miss and then I am probably going back up to Starkville when State plays LSU," Mason said. "I plan on going to some other games too, but those are the first ones I plan on going to."

A September 12th trip to Starkville would be the first for Mason since he attended Mississippi State's Big Dawg camp last month. Since that time, Mason has been in regular contact with Mississippi State defensive line boss David Turner.

"I get mail from Coach Turner every single week and we message back and forth on Twitter a lot," Mason said. "He is always telling me that they want me to be a part of the 'Dawg Fam' and that he believes that I would be a big help to them.

"Coach Turner is always telling me that they want me up there bad and that he wants to coach me in college."

Mason reports that feels "good" about his standing with Mississippi State and is excited to share the recruiting process with his family.

"Most of the people in my family aren't real big sports fans, so they don't really know much about recruiting and all of this," Mason said. "My mama didn't go to college, so all of this is real exciting for her.

"She is proud of me and excited to see all of my hard work pay off. She's having fun with all of this."

Mississippi State is one of several schools to offer and one of a quartet of schools making Mason a priority target as the fall evaluation period approaches.

"Mississippi State, Cal, Kentucky and Southern Miss are all recruiting me pretty hard right now," Mason said. "I like all of them and I am still going to take my time with everything. I am not sure when I am going to decide, but I am enjoying everything."

Recruiting is taking a bit of a back set now that the Tigers of McComb High School are preparing for the lid lifter next weekend.

"We play our jamboree this weekend against Halzehurst," Mason said. "I am excited about it. The team looks really good in practice and I feel like I am getting a little better every single day. I feel like we have a playoff team this year and I really want to have a big year this year, since it is my last year."
