MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update Week 1

The MSU commitment scoreboard update is back to bring you up to speed on how the current Mississippi State commitments fared in their most recent action on the gridiron. Only a handful of the current verbals were in action last week, but most of those in action picked up a win in week one.

Dareun Parker and Desoto Central (1-0) made the trip to Disney World to take on Jensen Beach in the Kickoff Classic. The Jaguars mauled Jensen Beach to the tune of 38-7. DeSoto Central will host White Station High (0-1) of Memphis, Tennessee this week.

Dee Nalls and Fayette County (1-0) won a heated affair over Winfield 26-20. As is the custom these days, there was a lot of discussion about how the game would play out on social media in the days leading up to kickoff. In the end, the Tigers got the win and head into this week's match-up with state champion favorite Gordo (1-0) with a lot of momentum.

Christian Roberson and McEarchern (1-0) rolled over Tucker 50-14 in the Georgia Dome. Roberson's chances were limited as his quarterback completed just five passes. The running game was more than enough to roll to an impressive win. The Indians are off this week and will host Buford in two weeks.

Errol Thompson and Florence High (1-0) blasted Shades Valley 38-13 in the season opener for both teams. FHS will be back in action this week as they host Whitehaven of Memphis.

Greg Eiland and Philadelphia (1-0) got their season off on the right foot with a 41-14 cake walk over Ruleville Central. The Tornadoes will be host J.Z. George (0-1).

Korey Charles and North Florida Christian (0-1) wound up on the short end of a 35-0 decision with Eagles Landing Christian. NFC will resume action this week as they take on Deerfield-Windsor (1-0).

Dontrel Allen's old team, East St. John won their season opener, but Allen was not with them in uniform. The talented corner enrolled at East Jefferson High and is hopeful that he will be eligible to play in the Warriors' lid lifter this Friday against King High School.

All other MSU verbals will begin play this week including the Co-Lin quartet who will open up at Itawamba on Thursday.
