Mississippi State basketball expects a big weekend this coming weekend

The Mississippi State men's basketball program is expecting a big weekend this coming weekend with several top players visiting, officially and unofficially.

This coming weekend, the Mississippi State men's basketball program will welcome several top players in the south both officially and unofficially.

Official visitors ....

Class of 2016 Starkville HS 4-star point guard Tyson Carter will take his official visit to MSU this weekend. Carter is ranked 79th in his class by Carter also has visits set up with Memphis (9-18), Arizona State (9-25), Miami (FL) (10-2), and Ohio State (10-9).

In addition to Carter, another class of 2016 4-star prospect will be officially visiting MSU this weekend, Schnider Herard, a 6-10, 260-lb center who plays for Prestonwood Christian. He is ranked 39th overall in his class by Scout. He also has visits set up with Texas Tech (9-25) and Kansas (10-9).

Unofficial visitors from Mississippi ....

Unofficially visiting will be class of 2017 guard Nick Weatherspoon, a 4-star recruit and ranked 65th nationally by Nick, who plays for Velma Jackson (MS) High School, is MSU freshman Quinndary Witherspoon's brother. He currently has offers from Connecticut, Florida State, LSU, Memphis, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Ohio State.

Also unofficially visiting is class of 2018 combo guard Robert Woodard of Columbus (MS) High School. He is expected to be among the top 30 to 40 players in his class when the Scout rankings come out for his class. He currently has offers from Mississippi State and Tennessee.

Another local product that will be unofficially visiting this weekend is New Hope (MS) High School class of 2017 combo guard Terryonte Thomas. Thomas has offers from Southern Miss and Xavier.
