Junior Linebacker Makes Double-Digit Tackles In Both Games

Everyone who watched Richie Brown’s work in rotation the past two seasons expected big things from this Bulldog. It’s unlikely anyone expected the new starting middle linebacker would have double-digit tackles in both his first games of 2015.

Moving into the first-team lineup has turned Richie Brown (22 tackles) loose to make more plays, and to take charge of the Mississippi State defense. In tandem with his brother-in-spirit Beniquez Brown, this pair of Bulldog ‘backers has set a strong early pace. Now coordinator and linebacker Coach Manny Diaz is asking them to become even more aggressive, if that’s imaginable, and push the Dog defense to even better performances.

If all goes as hoped this Saturday, Brown’s string of double-digit stops will end. But only because Coach Dan Mullen and Diaz want to get more snaps for more linebackers this week, to tune-up the depth chart ahead of consecutive SEC West road games.
