As of now, Breland's strength as a basketball player is his offense.
"Offensively, I like to drive to the basketball the most, but I also have three-point range," said Breland, who scored 20+ points per game this summer for his AAU team, The Gladiators. "I like to shoot a couple of threes."
Although already a good offensive player, he is trying to become even better.
"What I am working on the most is getting my three-point shot better," said Breland.
Breland moves up to the varsity team this year. And the expectations are high for him by his high school coach.
"My coach has told me that I will be starting as a freshman," said Breland. "I am happy about that."
He realizes playing varsity ball will be a challenge for several reasons.
"It will be harder on the high school team because we have to play against some really good teams," said Breland. "We don't have any seniors on our team, just juniors and freshmen."
Although recruiting really hasn't begun for the talented guard, he has an idea which schools that he would like to take unofficial visits to in the near future.
"I want to visit LSU, Kentucky and Mississippi State," said Breland. "I want to visit Mississippi State for real. They have a good program and have some good basketball players. (Mississippi State true freshman) Malik Newman went to Callaway (High School) in Jackson."
