Smith talked about his strengths as a player and some things that he is working to improve.
"My strengths are rebounding, kicking out the outlet pass and my hook shot," he said. "I am working on my ball handling, my midrange jump shot and my versatility."
Smith feels like starting as a freshman really helped him prepare for this season.
"I started as a freshman last season and had a good season," he said. "I started off kind of slow last year but after seeing how the competition was last year I am picking it up better this year. I helped lead them to the big house (the state championship tournament) and we are trying to get back this year."
Smith is already receiving recruiting interest from several schools.
"Schools that are showing interest in me are Northwestern State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Southern Miss," he said. "When I talk to the coaches they say they like my physical ability."
As a freshman, Smith averaged 6.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.
