With Malik Newman moving onto the college ranks, the Callaway High School players will all have to step up their game. One of those players is sophomore shooting guard Tanorrio Ransburg.
"My role on the team will be to score the ball and also to play as a team player," said the talented guard. "We have been working on pick and rolls so we can spread it around and try to get everybody open because Malik (Newman) is gone."
Ransburg learned a lot from Newman during his years with him.
"I learned a lot from Malik, dribble penetration, going to the hole," said Ransburg. "We worked out together everyday."
A talented outside shooter, Ransburg is working on another aspect of his offensive game.
"I am really keying on driving to the basket because everybody thinks that I am a (outside) shooter," said Ransburg. "I am trying to show them that I can also dribble and get to the hole."
He is receiving recruiting attention from several college coaches.
"For the last few practices I have had a lot of coaches come by and watch me," said Ransburg. "They are interested in me but I am young so they want to see me in tough situations and see how I handle myself."
