D'Angelo Jones of Gordo High School (AL) lines up at both defensive tackle and left tackle for the Green Wave. It appears that Jones' would fit best on the next level as an offensive guard.
Jones has a nice frame and a good wingspan to keep defenders out and away from him. He moves very well, so pulling and getting out in front on counter plays should be a breeze for him.
He does a nice job of using his athleticism to get to the second level to find some one to hit and extend the play.
Strong at the point of attack on either side of the ball, Jones shows no aversion at all to contact. Even when getting back on his heels in pass protection, Jones can deliver a solid punch to the defender.
Early in his career, Jones felt defensive line play was in the cards for his college future, but he has embraced the possibilities of playing as an offensive lineman on the next level. While his ankle flexion is a work in progress, Jones is able to fire off of the ball and engage with his marker no matter which side of the ball he is lined up on.
