"I am visiting Mississippi State on the 24th (of October)," said Brooks. "I have also visited Georgia. That has pretty much been it this year. I think I am going to go to Florida, Vanderbilt and go back to UAB. I think I may go back over to Georgia."
All of those schools as well as others have offered him.
"I has offers from Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State, Georgia, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt and UAB," said Brooks.
He provided his thoughts about the Mississippi State basketball program.
"I like State a little bit," said Brooks. "I like (head) Coach (Ben) Howland. I have gotten to know him pretty well since he was hired. I have probably been talking to him since June. He has been recruiting me pretty hard and has come to see me twice. He was actually the first head coach to come see me work out. That made me feel like I was a big priority to them."
He pointed out what Howland likes about his game.
"He likes me as a four-man who can post up," said Brooks. "And he really likes that I can shoot the ball pretty well. The morning he was down here I shot the ball extremely well. So, he likes that. I know he is big on player development and always helping his guys after basketball. I think he is a pretty good guy who is honest. I like that about him."
One thing that is unique about Mississippi State compared to other schools recruiting him is his dad, George Brooks, is a Mississippi State basketball assistant coach and also the coach recruiting him.
"He does a pretty good job of being my dad and being the coach (recruiting me)," said Brooks. "We talk to each other every day. And most of the time he is just being my dad, trying to help me, checking on me about school. He might talk about coming to State some of the time but most of the time he is just being my dad."
