Crisp explained what led to his commitment.
"Since the camp, they showed a lot of interest in me," he said. "Then they invited me to come watch the football game and the baseball scrimmage."
During his weekend visit, he knew the time was right.
"I have always liked Mississippi State," said Crisp, who chose MSU over offers from Florida, Miami, Alabama and Auburn "It was my top school. I like the fanbase and the coaches are great. It is a great organization that has a good history. I talked about it with my family and decided that was where I wanted to go."
He then relayed his decision to Mississippi State assistant coach Nick Mingione.
"I told Coach Nick Mingione," said Crisp, who throws in the mid-80s, topping out at 87. "We went back to his office and sat down with the family, talked about the offer, went over a few basic things. Then, me and my family came to the conclusion that I wanted to be a Bulldog. Coach Ming got really excited and was really happy that I wanted to become a Bulldog. That made me feel really wanted and that I made a good decision."
He couldn't be happier about his decision.
"It is a humbling experience, a real blessing," said Crisp. "I have always dreamed about this. This is why you work hard. You are building up to this moment."
