Mississippi State has confirmed that Brown, a junior outside linebacker, will leave Mississippi State with a year left on his college career. Brown had filed for an evaluation of his NFL draft projection in December, but during the Belk Bowl would not comment on his intentions.
“I’ll worry about that after the game,” was all Brown would say at the time. Then he had arguably his best all-around game during Mississippi State’s 51-28 win over North Carolina State with nine total tackles, including a clutch 4th-and-short solo stop; and two quarterback sacks.
Brown finished his junior season with 97 tackles and 4.0 sacks. He was a two-year starter, having been a rotation outside linebacker as a redshirt freshman in 2013.
He joins the previous pair of early-exiting Bulldogs from the 2015 lineup. All-SEC wide receiver De’Runnya Wilson announced on social media he was leaving on New Years Eve night. And on Monday this week defensive tackle Chris Jones made his announcement as well.
This is the largest group of draft-eligible Bulldog juniors to opt for early NFL entry.
