"I had a really good visit, I really did," Kobe Jones said. "It was a good time and we had a lot of fun."
Jones was hosted by one of the Bulldog's most productive defensive linemen, A.J. Jefferson.
"A.J. is a real cool guy," Jones said. "We really bonded over the weekend. I have always liked him and I enjoyed being about to spend some time with him and just get to know everybody better."
Growing up in the shadows of Davis Wade Stadium, Jones has been to campus more times than he can count. This weekend provided him a much different vantage point as an honored guest complete with the guided tour.
"I liked seeing everything, but I had really seen most of that before," Jones said. "I learned some new things from the academic side of things and that was pretty good. I enjoyed it all. It was a good visit."
Before leaving the Mississippi State campus, Jones was able to get some face time with Coach Dan Mullen. Jones reports that the conversation was a positive one and that no one pressured him for a decision.
"They didn't talk to me about committing or anything like that," Jones said. "They know that I am planning to take my visits and then make my decision. Coach Mullen didn't pressure me or tell me that I needed to make a decision right now or anything like that.
"The visit was good for me though. It sort of confirmed a couple of things for me."
Jones plans to take a trio of SEC visits before making his decision final on February 3rd, which is national signing day.
"I am going to Alabama next weekend and Ole Miss the last weekend," Jones said. "I have been talking with Missouri about taking a visit in between Alabama and Ole Miss during the week sometime. I am not sure when that is going to be yet.
"I am just going to keep everybody even for right now and then make my decision on signing day. I still have some things to think about before I decide. We are going to have a deal at the school and I am going to announce my decision then on signing day."
