Long time Mississippi State verbal Nero Nelson talks about his expectations for this weekend's official visit.

Mississippi State football is ready for round two of the January official visits. Several talented prospects and their families will be on campus Friday to begin their 48 hour Bulldog experience. Home state product Nero Nelson of Hollandale, Mississippi will be the lone Mississippian in attendance, if he can get there.

"I am supposed to be taking my visit this weekend." Treveon Nelson said. "I am hoping the weather is going to cooperate, so I can drive over there."

Yes, the Magnolia State is experiencing some winter weather, a rarity for these parts, that may create some challenging travel conditions.

"I am looking forward to the visit," Nelson said. "I just want to get over there and enjoy myself. I am excited about going over there and seeing what all they have planned."

Earlier this week, Nelson had the chance to hear more about his Mississippi State future when Top Dawg Dan Mullen paid a visit to the Mississippi Delta.

"Coach Mullen and Coach (David) Turner came to see me at the school and talked with me," Nelson said. "We talked about everything and we talked mostly about me playing DB.

"Coach Turner talked with me about staying on top of my grades. He stays on me about all of that. We have a great relationship."

Nelson reports that he has not scheduled any other official visits and that his trip to Mississippi State will be the only weekend trip he takes. Nelson will be one of three Mississippi State verbals on campus this weekend who will do their part to help persuade some of their peers to join them on the Bulldog roster.

"I am just hoping everything works out, so I can get over there tomorrow," Nelson said. "I guess we could always come earlier or on Saturday. I just want to get there. I've been looking forward to it."
