Hammond, Louisiana product Cameron Dantzler talks Bulldog official

Mississippi State hosted their second helping of January official visitors this past weekend. Seven Bulldog hopefuls made the trip including long time commitment Cameron Dantzler. Dantzler was one of a trio of Mississippi State verbals who were on hand to learn more about their futures in Starkville.

"It was a great visit," Cameron Dantzler said. "I enjoyed myself and my family did too."

Dantzler was hosted by a Bulldog fan favorite who is not too far removed from his own official visit experience.

"Brandon Bryant was my host," Dantzler explained. "It was fun being around him. He treated me like his little brother. He told me how it is to be a Bulldog and what it takes."

The Bulldogs did their best to roll out the Maroon carpet for their guests and it appears that things went extremely well for the star defensive back.

"I had a blast the whole weekend," Dantzler said. "My favorite part was going over to Coach (Dan) Mullen's house. I really got to talk to all of the players and coaches and just bond with them."

One of the people Dantzler was most eager to spend time with was newly hired corners coach Terrell Buckley. It appears that the pair have hit it off rather famously.

"Coach Buck is a very cool man," Dantzler explained. "I really enjoyed spending time with him. He says that he likes my size and my length. He said I will be the corner that plays a lot of one on one against the big receiver. He said I will be able to play a lot of man coverage, because of my size."

Before heading south for the Louisiana state line, Dantzler spoke with Coach Dan Mullen about the future and where Dantzler fits in the Bulldogs' plans.

"It was a nice visit," Dantzler said. "We talked about me coming in and producing. He told me about what all will happen and how excited he is to have me as a Bulldog."

The food, fun and football were all a big part of things for the visitors. While Dantzler has been in the Bulldog fold for some time, his family's blessing has always been important to him. It appears that his parents remain firmly behind his decision to wear the Maroon and White.

"My family loved the visit." Dantzler said. "They can't wait to get back up there on Saturdays to watch me perform. We all just enjoyed everything about the visit."
