"I came to the Mississippi State camp because I am interested in the Southeastern Conference," said Pipoly. "(Mississippi State assistant) Coach (Wes) Johnson emailed my dad because they were interested in me. So, I decided to come down and show my talents to them."
It appears the Bulldog coaching staff came away impressed with what they saw from the talented youngster.
"The camp went really well," said Pipoly. "(Assistant) Coach (Nick) Mingione told me he wanted me to contact him over the weeks so he could get to know me better and build a relationship. Then, we would see how it goes."
Prior to attending the camp, Pipoly knew very little about Mississippi State. That has changed in a dramatic way now that he has camped at State.
"I didn't really know much about Mississippi State but after seeing it at this camp I really like it," said Pipoly.
Recruiting-wise, Mississippi State left a strong impression on Pipoly.
"It is definitely among my top three schools and might even be number one," said Pipoly, who is also being recruited by Kentucky, Ohio State, South Alabama, Toledo and Wright State. "I liked everything about it. The coaches are really nice. The players are great."
As for what will determine what school he signs with, he is looking at early playing time.
"Honestly, I want to go where I can start my freshman year," said Pipoly. "So, wherever I can play is where I want to go."
