New Bulldog Safeties Coach on Revamped 2016 Defensive Staff

Maurice Linguist has some simple priorities. A conference that challenges coaches to be their best, a program with athletes who want to compete at the highest level, a boss who organizes his staff to do their job. Oh, and “Anywhere I can walk in and get some sweet tea, I’ll feel good!”

A job at Mississippi State fills all those bills. And, Coach Dan Mullen figures Linguist fills his bill for Bulldog cornerbacks coach in 2016. Linguist completes the position-staff that features three new members on the defensive side of the ball.

It also hasn't taken Linguist long to learn what the priorities are around Bulldog Country. “I checked into the Courtyard Marriott a couple of days ago and everybody said you’re one of the new coaches? I said yeah, I am, and they started telling me how to beat Ole Miss! So this is serious now!”

Linguist met with media Monday along with his fellow new position-staff.
