Early Duck Wildness Helps Mississippi State Clinch Series

Bulldog batters didn’t have to attack Oregon pitching this time. Duck moundsmen made offense easy for them, giving five first-inning runs on walks and plunkings and sending Mississippi State to a 9-3 victory.

Saturday’s success clinched the inter-conference series for Mississippi State (11-3-1) after a 10-4 Friday win. Oregon is 8-4 going into Sunday’s morning finale.

The Diamond Dogs didn’t have everything handed to them on offense. They also collected 11 base hits and order-topper Jacob Robson had a pair of them, scoring twice himself with a RBI. The junior centerfielder talks about the victory here.

A full game story will be posted later.
