Senior D-Lineman Finds a Good Fit Both at Nose Tackle and with New Coach Brian Baker

Changing systems and sets is challenging enough for a senior. Doing it for another coach adds to the challenge. Yet two weeks into his final Mississippi State spring, Nick James is finding nose tackle a fine fit for his size and skills. He's also fitting in fast and well with new d-line Coach Brian Baker, to everyone's relief.

James talked following Tuesday’s practice about his switch to playing over center in the new three-man front Baker and coordinator Peter Sirmon are installing during spring training. James also said that as of today the four-front was being used again since Mississippi State will remain a multiple-base defense.

Oh, and in case any wonder...yes. Baker's long experience in the National Football League has very much caught James' attention. Just like the new nose position which, James figures, will only further prepare him for next spring's draft evaluations.
