Mississippi State junior Austin Sexton picked up a huge road win for the Bulldogs as he scattered five LSU hits and allowed just one run.

Saturdays have been good to Mississippi State baseball this year. The Diamond Dawgs entered this Saturday with a 4-1 mark in the middle games of the SEC slate. Bulldog hurler Austin Sexton holds down the game two starting responsibilities, but had not had a win since the Bulldogs knocked off Ole Miss three weekends ago.

On this Saturday. Austin Sexton was simply splendid. The right hander kept LSU off balance all night as the Bulldogs scored just enough to win by the slimmest of margins, 2-1. The story of the night though was Sexton who sent 7.1 innings striking out four and walking just one.

The Tigers managed five safeties against Sexton, but could never string anything together or really barrel up any offerings from the Bulldog junior. Sexton shared his thoughts on the series clinching win with media during the post game.
