Although only a freshman, Acker stands out in a crowd due to his size, 6-foot-5, 220 pounds. And he matched that size with a good showing at the Mississippi State camp.
"(Mississippi State tight ends coach Scott Sallach) seemed to like me," said Acker. "He talked to me a lot about footwork and things like that."
Eli enjoyed his camp experience.
"It was fun, a good experience," he said. "I learned a lot of footwork, a lot of quickness drills and route running that will help me out."
The Mississippi State camp is one of several he has attended or plans on attending.
"I have been to one other camp, Ole Miss," said Acker. "I am going to a couple of more camps but I don't know which ones yet."
As of now, due to him being so young he hasn't received any recruiting attention but that will likely change after attending camps.
He has grown up a fan of Ole Miss, but he says he is open when it comes to being recruited.
"I grew up a fan of Ole Miss but I am open to all schools," said Acker.
