Mississippi State sophomore-to-be LHP Jared Padgett to have an MRI

Mississippi State sophomore-to-be lefthanded pitcher Jared Padgett will have an MRI to determine the extent of his arm soreness.


According to Jon Perez, the broadcaster for the Cape Cod League Cotuit Kettleers, Mississippi State sophomore-to-be lefthanded pitcher Jared Padgett "had been released" by Cotuit due "to a sore arm."

In 5 apperances for the Cape Cod League team this summer, Padgett had a 0-0 record with 1 save and a 0.93 ERA. He had pitched 9.2 innings, allowing 8 hits and 3 walks while striking out 9.

According to Missississippi State head coach John Cohen, "we aren't sure what is causing the soreness in Jared's arm. He will have an MRI to determine it."

As a freshman at Mississippi State, Padgett appeared in 4 games, recording a 0-0 record with a 3.86 ERA.
