Bulldog Defensive Line Boss Making Transition from NFL to College Coaching

Brian Baker will admit it. Those seasons in the National Football League were challenging, but after a few years he got a little too comfortable. Then came the opportunity to return to college football and it hasn’t taken Baker long to learn the difference. “There’s no comfort zone here!”

Which he also admits, is exactly what Baker wanted. Now in charge of Mississippi State’s defensive linemen, the 54-year-old is busy getting his big Dogs prepared to make life very un-comfortable for SEC opponents.

Four days into preseason and with two days working in pads, Baker is satisfied with where the tackles, nose men, and big ‘vipers’ are at. Mostly satisfied. But anything more means they’ve exceeded his expectations.

“And they haven’t done that, yet,” says Baker in today’s video interview.
