Little's summer team manager told him about the camp.
"Matt Miller, the head coach of the 59ers organization, my summer league team, sent me an email about the camp. That is how I found out about it," said the talented junior.
He enjoyed his time at the camp.
"It was fun at the showcase," said the 16-year-old. "It is always fun to come to these showcase type events and showcase your talent and all the hard work that you put in. I got to meet new people and the coaching staff."
He caught the eye of the Mississippi State coaches at the event due to the combination of his high 80s velo and young age. He was consistently throwing his fastball 85-89 miles per hour. That has been normal for him this summer.
"I probably sit around 86-87 and top out around 89," said the 6-foot-7, 176-pounder.
He has increased his velo about 5 miles per hour since last summer.
"Last year, I was throwing around 80-82 with 84 being my max," said Little. "I had some private lessons with a former Triple-A pitcher and in about two weeks I threw about 5 miles per hour harder based on my mechanic changes."
And like his velo his recruiting interest has also picked up.
"I have interest from a few junior colleges, Mississippi State, I'm really good friends with the head coach at Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana Monroe, South Alabama, places like that," said Little.
Last season, Little was 4-0 with an ERA of 2.96 for West Jones High School.
