Gross recently attended a Mississippi State baseball camp.
"I have family friends that went to Mississippi State and I got an emailed from Mississippi State inviting me to the camp, so I came to it," said Gross. "I liked the camp. It was really nice. I got to pitch on a college field and got to be with the coaches and players. It was a cool experience."
He liked several things about the Mississippi State baseball program.
"I liked the field and the facility, obviously," he said. "I have also watched Mississippi State on tv. I liked everything about Mississippi State."
The Mississippi State coaches also liked the talented youngster.
"The pitching coach talked to me after the camp and said he was impressed with my pitching and that they are really interested in me and that they are going to keep watching me and are going to keep up with me through my coaches," said Gross.
The Mississippi State showcase camp was one of three showcase camps the lefty has attended.
"I have also gone to showcases at South Carolina and Clemson," said Gross. "(The) South Carolina (coaches) talked to my coach and told him that they are interested in me coming to their school."
