From what I've seen in practice, it looks like you are not going to redshirt this season.
"Probably not. I kind of knew that I was going to play. When I was signed, they said they wanted me to return kicks right away, so I wasn't expecting to redshirt."
You and Omarr Conner, another true freshman quarterback, seem to have temporarily been moved to wide receiver because the coaches want to get the best players on the field no matter their classification. What is your opinion about playing wide receiver instead of quarterback your first year?
"It doesn't matter to me as long as I'm on the field. Wherever position they need me to play, I'm going to try and make plays and help us win. If they want me to play tackle, I'll play tackle (laugh)."
Have they told you if the move from quarterback to wide receiver is temporary?
"I think it all depends on how good I do at this position. If I catch 50 passes, maybe it's the spot for me."
It sounds like you are pretty open about this. Whatever is best for the team and for you is what you want to do?
"Yeah. Some of the (quarterbacks) who are here have a really good grasp of the offense. 70% of quarterback is mental and some of these guys have two years on Omarr and me."
Where are you on the depth chart at the different positions (wide receiver, punt and kick returner) that you are playing?
"I think I'm number two (on the depth chart) at wide receiver. Kicking and punting, it's just a matter of who is fresh and who is not. Nick and I may alternate every other one or every two (as a punt returner). Kickoff return, Jerious (Norwood) and I are a team and are in there together. I'm not sure how that is going to work."
