According to her mother, Octavia Crawford, Gabby is being recruited by about 40 schools (almost all have offered scholarships), including "every SEC school, along with Miami (FL), Duke, Harvard, Princeton, Purdue, K-State, Wichita State, Louisville, Illinois, Georgia Tech, Georgetown, Syracuse, Memphis, Virginia Tech, TCU, Southern Miss, SEMO, UAB, UTEP, Elon and several others. The schools that are recruiting her the hardest are Ole Miss, K-State, Alabama and Mississippi State."
Gabby has taken one official visit and visited four other schools unofficially.
"We have officially visited Miami," said Octavia. "We have taken several unofficial visits. We have visited Mississippi State several times, Ole Miss, Alabama and Louisville. And Tennessee called her last week. They want her to come up for an official visit."
Octavia explained why they are taking so many unofficial visits.
"There are so many schools recruiting her we want to make sure we find the best fit for her. When we visit, we are looking at team chemistry and the chemistry with the coaches. Those are her top priorities."
Gabby, a consensus all-state selection this past season, talked about her visits, both official and unofficial.
"It is really different at Miami. It is a big melting pot. You can see a lot of different things in Miami, different people. It was really fun being there. It was really fun hanging out with the players.
"When I went to Ole Miss it was like a family. I had a good time. The players have a good time.
"At Mississippi State, I love (Mississippi State head) Coach (Vic) Schaefer. They are like a family also. And the players are like a family, too.
"I didn't get to spend much time with the players at Louisville. I just watched their practice. (Louisville head) Coach Jeff Walz is really down to earth."
Gabby and her mother were also impressed with their visit to Alabama.
"We love (Alabama head coach) Kristy Curry," said Octavia. "She has been recruiting Gabby since she was a freshman. We have been down there several times and we just love her."
Octavia has been impressed with all the coaches who are recruiting her daughter.
"All the coaches have been great," she said. "They have been sincere. It is going to be a tough decision because all of the schools are great schools. Right now, we have to put God first and pray about it. At the end of the day it will be Gabby's decision because she will be the one who is there for four years."
Gabby expects to make a final decision prior to the November signing period.
"I think we are going to visit more schools, then, after that, my mom and I will sit down and narrow it down," said Gabby. "I plan on signing during the early signing period."
