TBA Returns to Rotation; Stovall Could Return by LSU Series

One lost day doesn’t stop a whole season. It certainly isn’t stopping Mississippi State from proceeding with their SEC season, and this scramble to stay out front in a mad pack racing for the conference title.

The Diamonds Dogs were wrapping up a Tuesday practice—as well as their spring semester exams—as Coach Andy Cannizaro met media to talk this upcoming series at Texas A&M. Mississippi State goes on the road part of a three-team tie for first place in the SEC standings. But the Aggies are in an even more-crowded group of four teams just one loss behind.

So it’s a series to impact the conference championship race; the SEC Tournament seedings; and beyond all positioning for the NCAA Tournament. Certainly the Diamond Dogs can shake-off a lost series to Auburn with a successful trip. In the process State can also push the RPI back into #1 seed and hosting position.

Cannizaro talked about going back to the old Pilkington/TBA/TBA rotation for this series; updated the status of injured infielder Hunter Stovall as well as possible defensive adjustments for the next couple of weeks; and just the challenge of playing in Aggieland.
