Since the NCAA live evaluation period began April 21st, Ngumezi has picked up offers from Mississippi State, St. Bonaventure, Clemson, South Florida, Wichita State and Massachusetts.
One of those offers caught him by surprise.
"It kind of surprised me getting the offer from Mississippi State," said Ngumezi. "Most of the schools that offer me tell me that they are going to watch me because they have an idea that they are going to offer me. But Mississippi State offered me right off the bat."
According to Ngumezi, the Mississippi State coach recruiting him told him, "that they like my versatility on the court, how I can play inside or out. He explained to me that is how their offense is run."
He is very excited about the offer from Mississippi State, a Southeastern Conference school.
"I am honored to receive an offer from every school but Mississippi State is a big school," said Ngumezi. "So, this offer really opened my eyes on how good that I can be."
And two more SEC schools have contacted him the last couple of days, telling him that they are going to start recruiting him.
"The University of Alabama texted me this morning and said they are going to start recruiting me hard," said Ngumezi. "Auburn has also told me that they are interested in me and are going to start recruiting me hard. They said if I keep up the good play they plan on offering me by the end of the summer."
While the three SEC schools have put their hat in the ring for this very talented member of the 2018 class, two other schools have shown him the most consistent interest.
"I am being recruited the hardest by UAB and the University of Houston," said Ngumezi. "They text me good morning every day. They check on me every now and then. And they keep a good relationship with my mother."
Ngumezi also holds offers from several other schools.
"I also have offers from the Florida Gulf Coast, University of Rhode Island, Northern Illinois, Rutgers and Middle Tennessee," said Ngumezi.
