High School - He was a 2014 Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American selection his senior season.

2016 Season - As a freshman at SJRSCC, he was 6-1 with 1 save and a 2.76 ERA. He threw 42.1 innings, allowed 35 hits, walked 25 and struck out 61. Following his freshman season, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 19th round of the 2016 MLB Draft in June.

2017 Season - Pitching in 17 games, 13 as a starter, the hard-throwing (90-93, 95 mph) McMahan was 6-2 with 1 save and a 3.46 ERA. He threw 75.1 innings, allowing 63 hits while walking 32 and striking out 94. McMahan pitched extremely well in his last five starts of the season, throwing 33 innings while allowing just 6 earned runs (1.64 ERA) on 21 hits and 9 walks while striking out 49.

Recruiting - Chose Mississippi State over Arizona State, Florida State, Alabama, Miami, Kentucky, the University of Central Florida and the University of Houston.

2017 MLB Draft - Pro scouts really like what they see from McMahan and that could lead to him being drafted in the early rounds.

MSU 2018 Season - If McMahan arrives on campus, which I believe is 50/50 right now, I see him competing for a starting spot, possibly even an SEC rotation spot.
