Long Beach High School linebacker Tim Lewis, who is on the small side but plays with great intensity, told me he is receiving interest from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.
Long Beach High School quarterback Pat Farrell (6-2, 230), a player who I feel has improved quite a bit since his junior year (quicker feet, better accuracy), told me he has five schools at the top of his list: " USM, Mississippi State, LSU, Alabama and Arkansas". As schools see his senior film, look for their interest in him to pick up. During his teams first three games - all victories - Pat has thrown for 11 touchdowns while throwing just 1 interception. The interception came on a play where his receiver fell down, allowing the defensive back to pick off the pass.
Although I didn't talk to them at the conclusion of the game, two St. Stanislaus seniors looked good during the game. Kicker Michael Kivian, who I was told kicked a 48-yard field goal against St. John, kicked most of his kickoffs either in the endzone or within the 10 yard line. I was told that he is receiving interest from several colleges. Quarterback Tim Kulikowski also showed promise, exhibiting clutch play, a fairly strong and accurate arm and tremendous toughness. Although I'm not sure what level of college prospect he is, he is definitely a player college coaches should check out.
