Pearl River CC sophomore cornerback Jordan Mims is impressed with MSU

Pearl River (MS) Community College sophomore cornerback Jordan Mims camped at Mississippi State recently. He talked about his camp experience and his impression of Mississippi State.

Mims was impressed with the competitiveness that he saw at the camp.

"I liked how competitive it was at the camp," said Mims. "You couldn't take a rep off. You had to keep going. That is why I kind of got fired up at the end."

Mims explained how he wound up at the camp.

"Coach Buck asked me to come to their camp," said Mims, referring to MSU cornerbacks coach Terrell Buckley. "He had told me that he likes my size and me being able to play the position and grasp the concept of it."

Mims came away impressed with what he saw from Buckley.

"I like that he is a person who wants it to get done the way he wants it done," said Mims. "You just keep working until you get it perfect."

Mims definitely has Mississippi State on his recruiting radar screen after attending the camp.

"I love Mississippi State," said Mims. "I love the atmosphere. I love the people, the city. I also love the campus. It is huge. It feels like it is a place where I can come and grow."

Mississippi State is one of two colleges talking to the talented juco cornerback.

"Mississippi State and Jackson State are talking to me," said Mims. "I have to put film together and send it out to more colleges.

"Because I am at a junior college I have people looking at me right now but you have to start over from scratch and proved yourself to people."
