  • Attendance was 45,835.
  • State's 0-4 start marks its first such beginning based upon on-the-field results since 1968....State's records in 1976 and 1977 officially indicate 0-3 starts after every MSU win during those seasons were forfeited by the NCAA.
  • MSU's current nine-game losing skid is the third longest setback string in school history.
  • With his five receptions in the game, senior Justin Jenkins moved into sixth place on MSU's career list for pass receptions (106). His lone TD reception moved him into a tie for second place on MSU's all-time TD catch list with 14. Jenkins has now had at least one pass reception in 24 of his last 25 games.
  • Ray Ray Bivines matched his career high with six receptions in the game.
  • McKinley Scott has now had 10 receptions for 155 yards in the last two games.
  • With his 19 pass completions in the contest, Kevin Fant moved into third place on MSU's career list with 357, surpassing Tony Shell, Don Smith and Tommy Pharr.
  • Fant was sacked 5 times during the game. He has now been sacked 13 times in the first 4 games.
  • MSU has started the same 11 offensive players in all four games this season.
  • MSU's 10-play, 92-yard touchdown drive was the longest drive this season. MSU has now had 7 scoring drives of more than 75 yards.

  • QB Matt Mauck moves to 10-1 as the starting quarterback of the Tigers, including 10 straight victories.
  • LSU's victory moves the Tigers to 5-0 for the first time since the 1973 season when LSU began the season 9-0.
  • By holding MSU scoreless in the first half tonight, LSU has not allowed an opponent to score in the first half during a regular season (non bowl) game since Ole Miss scored a touchdown with 1:02 left in the first quarter on Nov. 23, 2002.
  • Three LSU offensive linemen extended their consecutive games start streaks (OT Rodney Reed - 39, OG Stephen Peterman - 24 and OT Andrew Whitworth - 18).
