You had a pretty good day today.
"Yes sir, I had a pretty good day. They caught a couple of passes on me but as freshmen we will continue to work hard and get better and better."
Today, Memphis ran up and down the field on you guys, but you made the plays at the end to stop them.
"They were getting up and down the field pretty good. I just said I wasn't going to let my man score. I had to hold my man down and that is what I did today."
It looked like the cornerbacks were being beaten a lot because it looked like you were trailing your man quite a bit. Were they beating you guys one on one?
"No, they weren't beating us. We were playing a dog technique or a trail technique. We had help over the top. That's why it looked like that."
You played a nickel package a lot today. You even had your fastest linebackers in most of the game.
"Yeah, we had to put them in because they were throwing the ball on us a lot today. They didn't really run. They just came out and tried to throw the ball."
They threw the ball 61 times and ran a total of 89 plays. Is this a record number of plays for you?
"Yeah, this is the most passing plays that I have played and the most downs that I have ever played in a game. I liked it. I want somebody to continue trying to throw at me."
Were you tried at the end of the game?
"Yeah, we were all tired but we just had to suck it up and keep going and keep playing hard."
It looked like you had stopped them but they got the ball back one more time.
"Yeah, when we went back out there, I said, 'man, I'm tired of going out there', but I had to go out there and stop whoever I was covering."
The guys with the yellow flags were really throwing them today.
"They gave us too many penalties. I had 3 or 4 myself. By being aggressive, that is going to happen. If the receiver beats you, grab them, do anything, but don't let them score."
Are you a talker on the field?
"No, I'm not a talker. I let my actions speak for me."
You were sure hitting hard and making tackles today. Is that what we can expect from you during your career here?
"Yes sir, you are going to see me hit and cover. When it is time to make a tackle, I will come up and make a tackle and when it is time for me cover somebody, I will cover somebody."
