Winsome Frazier Interview

Talk about your new role on the team.
"I am still like the sixth man to me. I still bring energy to the team. I still bring the momentum to the team."

You mentioned that you still feel like the sixth man, but Coach Stansbury wants you to start.
"I'm like anybody else, I love to start, but I don't let it get to me. I just have to maintain focus and do the little things."

Coach Stansbury seems to want you to be more of an offensive player this year.
"I am going to try to do more of both, offense and defense. But if the team needs me to score more, then I will try to score more. I just want to help the team out any way that I can."

You brought spark off the bench last year. Where will this team get that kind of spark this year?
"You can give the same kind of spark, starting or coming off the bench. I am still going to bring the same thing. Frazier is going to be the Energizer Bunny. I am going to be that same kind of person."

With Ontario Harper lost for the season, you, Michael Boler and Shane Power will have to step into that role.
"Yeah. I know that Michael Boler didn't play too much last year, but we need him to step up this year. Shane Power set out last year and still has a little knee problem but he is coming on."

What has been your impression of Baylor transfer Lawrence Roberts (junior forward) after watching him play in practice and the one scrimmage?
"I call him a beast on the boards. He grabs rebounds like I'm never seen anybody grab. He's on the backboards no matter what. He doesn't worry about the points. He's just out there hustling. That is what I like the most about him."

What's your opinion of freshman point guard Gary Ervin?
"Quick. I think he only takes about four or five dribbles to get down the court. He is a fast point guard. It's like we still have a fast tempo team."
