Mario Bobo talks about his MSU visit

Gene's Page caught up with South Panola High School cornerback Mario Bobo and did a detailed interview about what he thought of his official visit to Mississippi State.

What were your impressions of your trip to Mississippi State?
"I liked the coaching staff and their facilities."

What did you like about the coaching staff?
"Coach Croom and the way he treated me."

Was that the first time you had met him one on one?

What were the things you liked about him?
"He was a nice guy, honest."

Did he talked to you about what he thought of you as a player?
"He thinks I am a good player and have a good chance of coming in and making a good impact for the football team."

What were some things he said that stood out from all the rest of the things he said?
"He doesn't plan on having a losing season. And he said there is a lot of talent down there and he is ready to start working with them."

Are you going to watch the Green Bay/Philadelphia playoff game?
"Yeah, I am going to watch it."

Were you planning on watching it or are you watching it because Coach Croom is the running backs coach for Green Bay?
"I'm watching it because Coach Croom is on the team. I wasn't planning on watching it before."

Did you get to meet the strength coach? If so, what did you think about him?
"Yes. I think he knows what it takes to get to the next level and what it will take to win."

Who was your player host?
"(Redshirt freshman DB) Rickey Wright."

Did you get to meet any of the other MSU players?
"I got to meet Darren Williams, Omarr Conner and Clarence McDougal."

What were your impressions of them?
"They are real good and they are like a family. They seem like nice people. We talked like we had known each other for a while."

Does how close MSU is to South Panola and Batesville factor into your school choice?

What other schools do you have set up for visits?
"Tennessee (1/16) and Alabama (1/30)."

Where does Mississippi State stand in your recruitment?
"Right now, they are right at the top."
